Salted Caramel Pear and Green Apple Tart

Ive started a new job-that has taken all my time the past two weeks so apologies Ive been MIA for some time. Boys have been living on take out.

This was a yummy treat I threw together that really needs to be shared. I should call it “sorry mommas been busy” treat! So easy and mouthwatering good! The crust is simple bought raw pie crust. If you have time whip up a basic 1 shell butter crust but in the pinch this worked fabulous. Use a torte pan- its worth treating your kitchen to one. They can be so versatile.

  • Boxed pie crust you only need 1 of the two that come to a box
  • 4 pears(sm) and firm
  • 4 granny smiths
  • 1 tbs flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbl white sugar(for green apple slicestopping)
  • Dash of salt
  • tsp vanilla
  • 2tsp cinnamon
  • Sea-salt Caramel topping

Preheat oven 375

Press crust into pan pushing corners up the edges of the torte pan coming just shy the top. Take a-fork and tap out vents along base of crust. You don’t want the edges to burn.

Peal and slice pear and green apple. ( reserve 1 apple) don’t peel just thin slice for top.

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and assort on crust. Arrange the peel on green apple for design and lightly sprinkle slices with the white sugar.

Bake 45 minutes until fruit is cook thru.

Serve hot with drizzled caramel topping and vanilla icecream. We had ours with caramel toffee icecream.

The fruit takes on a chewy sweet goodness that is so satisfying!
